Elkhart, Indiana., November 10, 2009 Gemstone Musical Instruments Names Dave Pirtle to Serve as CEO and President Gemstone today announced that effective immediately, its board of directors has named Dave Pirtle to serve as the company's chief executive officer. Pirtle, 46, has served as Gemstone’s Director of Operations. He has spent over 27 years at Gemstone where he began employment in 1982. The board selected Dave because of his core commitment to providing quality and value to dealers and customers. Upon acceptance of the position Dave said “I know I can deliver quality and value to the marketplace. We have been successful in managing to keep Gemeinhardt as an independent company, and have established a positive direction for the company that enables us to further expand our flute sales for 2010 and beyond. With our loyal customers' continued support we will remain the most successful flute brand in USA”. Dave is aware of recent rumors about the company and said with a smile “the rumors of our death have been greatly exaggerated. We are here and here to stay”. He commented to dealers “If dealers are tired of the Big Gorillas pushing them around, they should call us. They will find a customer and dealer friendly voice on the other end of the line”.
